Bonjour from Montreal, where I'll be spending the rest of this holiday week at the 33rd edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. The festival's winding down now, but there's still plenty to see and hear over the next four days. One of the best things about this festival is that it's right in the heart of the Place des Arts - which is itself right in the heart of the city. Which means that there are lots of free, open-air shows throughout the day, including this likable set by local big band Ensemble de Jazz L'Accroche-Notes on the main festival plaza. Everyone seems to know all of the words, which is just as it should be.
Off to the Salle Michael Bourne now to pick up my credentials and see what I can get into tonight. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend.
