Fe(a)stival of Music

MmnyheaderGet out your Metrocards: on June 21 - the summer solstice - NYC will play host to the first annual Make Music New York, offering free, live performances in public spaces around all five boroughs. The event is the latest outpost of France's Fête de la Musique, first held 25 years ago in Paris and now happening simultaneously in 300 cities around the world. Amateurs as well as professionals are invited to participate: all you need to do is register. At the moment, they have well over 1,000 musicians participating in all genres, including opera, chamber, pop, jazz, electronica, hip-hop, and the ever-popular "Unclassifiable." Below is a partial view of what we're in for.Picture1
