Ok, maybe its context, but I'm just going to put it out there: the progressive arm of indie rock - the one that veers into loops, distortion and beats - is most probably the vanguard of music in the 21st century. Not just rock or techno or that weird-in-between-shit - all music. Yes, even that other kind. Why? I can only venture a guess, but it probably has to do something with the environment in which this music is conceived: grass roots, bohemian, underground.
