Sunday Dinner
Thank goodness for holiday weekends, when you can stay out late on a Sunday and not be all screwed up for work the next morning. Which is key when you're spending the night at Death By Audio, whose shows almost always seem to run on a school night. But, where else in this town are you going to see five bands for $7? And, not just any bands, but some of the biggest names in the Brooklyn scene?
Pure Horsehair featured Garrett Devoe's subdued vocals and acoustic guitar, with journeyman Shahzad Ismaily (from Two Foot Yard and countless other bands) pitching in on electric and drums. Proggy Iran had TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone singing backup to Aaron Aites' lead vocals. And The Fakers closed out the night with a set of pure guitar fun that one bystander wittingly described as "hand-job music." (Note: I later saw selfsame person leaving by himself. More pics below.)
