Metric/Joan as Police Woman/Holly Miranda @ Celebrate Brooklyn

DSC06253Emily Haines, Metric's front woman (and sometime-member of Broken Social Scene), gave a somewhat inconsistent performance Thursday night at Celebrate Brooklyn, awkwardly fighting her way through hits like "Sick Muse" and "Help, I'm Alive." But, noone can deny the supreme energy she and the rest of the band (James Shaw, Joshua Winstead and Joules Scott Key) invested in their performance, which had the 5,000 strong up and dancing for most of the performance. Sounds like a typical Canadian joint to me.

Opening were Holly Miranda (along with a shitload of other people onstage) and the soft, soulful Joan As Police Woman. More pics on Flickr.
