The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music closes out its 25th year this Wednesday at the Tishman Auditorium with an all-star concert featuring current faculty members such as Jimmy Owens, Cecil Bridgewater, Billy Harper, and Rory Stuart, and distinguished alumni such as NEA Jazz Masters Jimmy Heath, Jimmy Owens, and Frank Wess, among others.
According to Executive Director Martin Mueller, “With nearly 1,000 alums and at least that many more artists having stopped in along the way, The New School is one of the most influential institutions of its kind in the world. Our alumni have had a remarkable impact—many in major ways—on jazz and contemporary music. This concert celebrates a stunning musical history of jazz throughout our 25 years at the New School, and confirms the future in the hands and hearts of the next generations of artists.”
Tickets are $30 for general admission and $100 for preferred seating; more info @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
