LPR x 5

"We wanted to revive the symbiotic relationship between art and revelry, to establish a creative asylum for both artists and audiences."
- Justin Kantor and David Handler, LPR co-founders
Hard to believe, but (le) poisson rouge—which has quickly become an indispensible fixture in the NYC soundscape—turns five this year, and they are celebrating in style this week with LPR X 5: a festival as diverse as the club's famously eclectic booking policy.
Encompassing everything from Simone Dinnerstein playing Bach's Goldberg Variations, to jazz guitar and hardcore punk, there's literally something for everyone al LPR this week. (Some events are even free.) More info available on their website.
Happy birthday, LPR. Thanks for giving us a place to call home for the past five years. See you later for some art and alcohol.
