Preview: "The Day Before" at Symphony Space

Symphony Space

To mark the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas, Texas, Symphony Space turns back the calendar this Friday to November 21, 1963—the day before the tragedy that befell the country. In collaboration with the Hermitage Artist Retreat, the Upper West Side venue has curated an evening of new multimedia offerings—including film, musical performance, and readings—that reimagines the country's state of mind prior to the president's death.

Artists slated to contribute to the program include: composers Nico Muhly, Eve Beglarian, Phil Kline, and Robert Vuichard; writers Craig Lucas and Bill Morrison; singers Megan Weston and Robert Osborne; as well as actors Olympia Dukakis, BD Wong, and Carson Grant.

The 7:30 performance takes place in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia; tickets are $32 and available via the Symphony Space box office
