Preview—Rite of Summer 2014: Dawn of Midi

Dawn of Midi

Rite of Summer, the outdoor series of free concerts directed by the pianists Blair McMillen and Pam Goldberg that emphasizes contemporary classical music, kicks off its fourth season on May 31 with a performance by Dawn of Midi. The Brooklyn trio performs electronica-inspired music on acoustic instruments, and are at the forefront of a movement among young composers and performers to find the synergy between electronic and acoustic music.

Performances will be held at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Colonels Row on Governors Island.
